An up-to-date "Amazing Adventures of Spider-Guy" ride, at Islands of risk, opens in March with new 4K-high-definition 3d technology, character designs, new ride effects and cameo from comicbook icon Stan Lee. "It's really a mind-dazzling presentation, if you think about the imagery," mentioned Mark Woodbury, prexy of Universal Creative for your company's theme parks. "When Spider-Guy jumps towards the vehicle, you will notice every thread of his costume, as well as the particulars behind him are wealthy and deep and full and very spectacular." After already announcing expects to build up a 3 dimensional ride based on "Wretched Me," U introduced that "Wretched Me Minion Mayhem" will open this summer season and replace "Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast." 'Bridesmaids' Director, Star Tackle New Projects

New Line's "Police Academy" remake gets a director who not only has proven he can helm very funny content, but also is surprisingly knowledgeable about being a police officer. In other news, Melissa McCarthy's upcoming film "Tammy" also nabs a director, Paul Feig is set to helm a new film (that's not "Bridesmaids 2") and the "Goodfellas" TV show finds itself a network to call home. It's January 10, and you're here for today's daily news round-up. "Police Academy" Remake To Be Helmed By Scott Zabielski Deadline is reporting that New Line Cinema's "Police Academy" remake has finally gained a director. "Tosh.O" helmer Scott Zabielski is going to make his feature film debut directing the upcoming take on the film series that started out at Warner Bros in 1984. Fun fact: Zabielski himself is a reserve police officer in West Hollywood. Not your average citizen on patrol! Melissa McCarthy Flick "Tammy" Gets A Director "Tammy" finally has a director. Deadline is reporting that "Saturday Night Live" veteran Beth McCarthy-Miller will helm the flick. It was written by Melissa McCarthy and intended to be a starring vehicle for her as well. It's likely gaining a lot of interest right now because of her post-"Bridesmaids" popularity. "Tammy" follows a woman who is laid off from her job at a fast food restaurant and finds out her husband is cheating on her. She decides to ditch the life she was living and go on a "road trip of self-discovery" with her potty-mouthed diabetic grandmother. Paul Feig To Direct "The Better Woman" TheWrap has learned that "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig is being tapped to direct "The Better Woman" for Universal. Like "Bridesmaids," "The Better Woman" has a strong line-up of female producers and is being written by a female writer: "Gilmore Girls'" Amy Palladino. The film follows a young executive who gets dumped by her boyfriend for an older woman. She becomes obsessed with getting her boyfriend back but ends up becoming friends with his new lady. "Goodfellas" TV Show Lands At AMC AMC already has meth dealers, sexist advertisers and zombies, so it only seems fair that they add gangsters to the mix. The "Goodfellas" television show was being optioned back in September 2010, and now Deadline is reporting that AMC has picked it up. Nicholas Pileggi and Irwin Winkler, both of whom worked on the original 1990 film, are involved in the upcoming series. No word yet on when AMC plans to bring the show to the small screen. Nicholas Hoult Is One Attractive Zombie In "Warm Bodies" The first images from Jonathan Levine's upcoming zombie romance film "Warm Bodies" have hit the web, and they show a different take on the bloody-thirsty undead creatures than we've seen before. Since "Warm Bodies" is about a zombie falling in love with a human, it's safe to say that Levine wasn't going to make his leading man too gory, but Nicholas Hoult looks to be channeling a little bit of his inner Edward Cullen in these pictures. It will be interesting to see what the other bad zombies and "Boneys" look like in the film in comparison to Hoult. Keck's Exclusives: A Grey's Anatomy What If?

Kate Walsh, Patrick Dempsey Ever wonder how Meredith Grey would have turned out had her mom, Ellis, never developed Alzheimer's and died? Or if Derek had chosen Addison over Mer? Grey's Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes sure did and is answering these questions in the ABC drama's February 2 episode."The whole concept is really cool - a Sliding Doors kind of thing," says Private Practice star Kate Walsh, who guest stars. "It's interesting to see all of the characters turned upside down a little. Ellis is alive and well and has changed everything. She has a different relationship with her daughter, which makes Meredith a different person - not the kind of woman who would continue on with someone who's married." Meow!To create an alternate-universe look, the makeup, wardrobe and hairstylists returned Kate to the way she looked in 2005. "It was really fun for me to be back in the really coiffed hair and red lips," she says. "And all the guys are wearing ties and buttoned-up white coats. Patrick [Dempsey] looked a little like a mad scientist so we were calling him McDreary instead of McDreamy. It was all very strange, creepy and cool."While the hospital staff perceives the Drs. Shepherd as the perfect couple, Kate says viewers will "see what's really transpiring. There may or may not be a baby on the way."This may also be the year when Addison becomes a mommy on Private Practice. Kate teases, "She's going to Palm Springs with Jake." Hmmm... perhaps to conceive a baby in the desert? "That's all I'm tellin' ya!"Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now!

Bad Robot iOS App Brings Hollywood Effects To Home Movies

So, Christmas (and 2011 at large) is behind us, and your place is filled with half-opened boxes of hideous underwear your mom gave you because, "you needed it." What, this doesn't happen to you? OK, so maybe there's five pounds of "delicious" fruitcake from your aunt whatever. Instead of selling your underwear on Craigslist, or using the fruitcake as a doorstop, why not let your misinformed loved ones know how much you appreciate that gift by launching a missile into it? A new iOS app from director J.J. Abrams' ("Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol") production company, Bad Robot, lets you do just that. Well, virtually, anyways. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Action Movie FX" is available on the iTunes App Store right now. The app essentially works like a plug-in for popular editing suites Adobe After Effects, for example layering ridiculous effects over video. Just shoot a scene on your iPhone, and it's then possible to suddenly have a helicopter crash into your backyard. Check out the video below for some examples. The best part: "Action Movie FX" is free. Two effects come bundled with the app, "Missile Attack" and "Car Smash," but other add-ons will cost you $.99 via in-app purchase. Currently, "Chopper Down/Tornado" and "Air Strike/Firefight" are available. More effects will release in future updates. Considering the app comes from Bad Robot, I imagine your exploded underwear will likely wake up on a deserted island, only to find out it was in a church with all the other underwear the whole time. What do you think of "Action Movie FX?" Have you tried it out? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
